The old man wraps gnarled fingers around the controls of his Jazzy chair, maneuvering through the halls of the assisted living center. He hadn’t wanted to come here, has argued against it for several years, but his daughter finally worn down his resistance.
He longs for home, for the scent of cherry blossoms in the spring and the sound of his sons’ dogs barking next door, but he can’t stay there anymore. His old bones aren’t capable of taking care of the place anymore and after flooding the basement his children worry what other havoc his absentmindedness will wreak.
