For Denise

Simply for loving me

Love it

Before you

Blue horizon

I don’t remember

Somewhere summertime

Last book I read

Morning sunlight

She is a road

Her stockings

Cappuccino

In twenty years

When hearts break

Tell me why

Her bra

Love is like the sunshine

Making Pictures

Every time I hold you close

Where is the woman that I married?

After you

Calendar Girl

Love it

It’s hard to not sing a song about love.

We all want to feel it,

To know it,

To be wrapped up in it.

To taste it,

Fall into it,

And try not to fall out of it.

So we seek it,

Till we find it,

And shout about it.

Give into it,

Fight for it,

Hold on tight to it.

We share it,

Would die for it,

Sometimes we cry over it.

We nurture it,

Delight in it,

Be overcome by it.

We stand for it,

Believe in it,

Forgive on account of it.

Live for it,

Breathe in it,

Exist just because of it.

Sing of it,

Write about it,

Hurt from the pain of it.

Dance for it,

Do for it,

To the point we are moved by it.

We are found by it,

Bound by it,

And even act out of it.

We read about it,

We dream about it,

But best of all, we love it.

Before you

Before you say another word,

Before you laugh at what you’ve heard,

Let every tiny thought just seem to be.

Before you sing another song,

Before you right what once was wrong,

I only want to hear you say you love me.

Before you go to sleep at night,

Before each time you hold me tight,

Remember that it is my heart you’re holding.

Before you hold my hand in yours,

Before you show the cards you’ve drawn,

In the game of love I am already folding.

Before we age as lovers do,

Before this life of ours is through,

I want you to know your love has made me stronger.

Before you say how can that be?

In a love that lives eternally,

Just know I wish that I could love you longer.

Before in Heaven we do meet,

I’ll thank you for a life so sweet,

And we’ll invent new ways to fall in love again.

Before eternity does start,

Your love is still within my heart,

Only Heaven’s love is free from all earth’s pain.

Before we stroll within the clouds,

And remember this love on earth of ours,

I’ll stop talking long enough so I can kiss you.

So before we now turn off the lights,

Before we shake the stars at night,

I’ll take every moment I have left to love you.
