In Black and White
Motionless,
The child crouched,
Uncomprehending,
For there in the tree-trunk,
Lived peacefully,
Thousands of white and black…..
ANTS.
Separation
The woman crouched,
Framed,
In the doorway of the cream-coloured peeling paint walls,
Her children,
Uncomprehending,
Suck their thumbs,
Anaesthetised,
By their innocence,
From the suffering ,
In their teartorn,
Mother.
Lights at Night
The eyelids of night,
Closed,
Upon those,
Who,
If not for the lights,
Would never know,
Of me…. And you,
Here.
Thoughts of Expression
Wanting,
Yet not willing,
My sinews of thought,
Twist,
In search of expression……
A lifelong duel,
Fought over lands of age,
Which in many ,
Strives unconquered,
Towards tragic……..
Self-destruction.
Now,
The duel has lifted to a higher plain,
Where beauty is perceived,
Yet cynically viewed,
A contradiction of expression,
In a time when healthiness of mind and body,
Rides on high……
In the self-awareness…….
Renaissance.
Yet,
In closing,
I perceive,
Expression as continuous,
Forever present,
In whichever form,
