Dr. Smiley was, of course, a very positive influence on me, which probably has a lot to do with my keeping my books, and everything I do in my own ministry, as simple as possible, and contributed significantly to my success. You have within you the power to make your life what you desire it to be. Your spoken word is not only powerful to make changes in your life; it is the power through which definite changes come about. Regardless of outside influences, you shape your life through your thoughts and words. You do this whether or not you are aware of it.
When you know the power of words, especially your spoken words, you will put a guard at your lips and be very wise as to what words pass through, just as you will do the same with your ears so that you allow only that which is uplifting, positive, life-enriching to enter and find lodging in your thinking process. Words can make your life miserable or marvelous. It is up to you.
